Farm Manager

Blue Mountain Estates Coffee is a Jamaican coffee producer and exporter, growing the World’s Most Sought-After Coffee in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica.

We’re looking for an experienced Farm Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across our farms. The ideal candidate will have several years of hands-on farm management experience, a strong practical knowledge of coffee cultivation, and the ability to lead and develop an existing local team who know the land and climate well but need stronger day-to-day operational structure.

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site position based at the estate in the Blue Mountains, Jamaica. A relocation package is available for the right candidate. You’ll be responsible for the daily operations on-farm – that means coordinating the labor force, overseeing agronomic practices, and improving operational consistency from planting through to harvest.

This is a hands-on role. You won’t need advanced technical or scientific expertise, but you will need solid working knowledge of specialty coffee production, and the confidence to be out on the land directing work, not just managing from an office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the existing local team, drawing on their knowledge of the land and weather while introducing clearer operational routines
  • Oversee pruning and other core cultivation practices to maintain plant health and yield
  • Liaise with agronomists, technicians, and other external specialists as needed
  • Monitor crop health and flag issues early, coordinating any necessary interventions
  • Report regularly to ownership/management on farm performance, challenges, and progress
  • Ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a consistent standard across the team

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Excellent spoken and written English — this is essential
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in farm management for specialty coffee production
  • Practical knowledge of pruning and core coffee cultivation practices
  • Solid understanding of farming fundamentals
  • A hands-on, on-the-ground working style
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills#
  • The ability to bring structure to an experienced but informally-run team

Desirable Skills

  • Prior experience working alongside agronomists or agricultural technicians
  • Experience managing farm workers or teams in a rural/estate setting

What We Offer

  • Relocation package (details TBD)
  • Competitive salary of circa $48,000 USD (depending on experience)
