More Than Kopi Luwak: Specialty Coffee in Indonesia

If you think all Indonesian coffee is either commodity or kopi luwak, think again. This island chain may not be as well-known for its specialty coffee, but you can find high-quality single origin beans here.

At Micro Festival El Salvador, Benji Salim of Q Coffee Traders spoke on Indonesia: Adopting a Specialty Mindset. He shared common processing and production methods, information on the different regions of Indonesia, and what he believes the four keys to specialty production are: passion, an understanding of cupping, infrastructure and logistics, and social responsibility.
