When is pulling an espresso not just pulling an espresso? When the machine has pressure or flow control, enabling you to control how the water flows through the coffee and therefore the profile of the espresso.
We’ve looked at pressure profiling before. Now, we’re taking a look at controlling the flow.
By varying the flow, you can highlight certain characteristics in the cup. Adjust the acidity or sweetness. Choose to increase the mouthfeel or the balance. It’s all down to you.
