World Barista Championship Teams: The New Competition for 2016
There’s only one World Barista Champion – but that doesn’t mean there’s only one winner. Not any more.
Because this year, World Coffee Events are announcing the WBC Teams Competition.
A fun competition celebrating the fact that there’s a team behind every competitor – the producer, the green buyer, the roaster, the coach – WBC aims to add even more camaraderie to the event.
It won’t affect the competitors’ rankings in any way, nor will it require any additional work. All the barista competitors have to do is give their usual 15-minute performance. But this time, there’s even more chance of winning.
All teams are equally weighted, based on historical rankings, to make the competition fair. And the winners will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Cafe Show in Seoul, the location of WBC 2017, this November.
